This privacy policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can get it changed or deleted.
Funny Guys is a comedian and MC booking agency based in Victoria, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

If you only want the short version: we collect what you send us in an enquiry so we can quote on your event and get back to you. We do not sell your information to anyone.
What we collect when you send an enquiry
When you submit an enquiry form on this site, we collect and store:
- Your name
- Your company or organisation, if you give one
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The event type, event date and budget range you select
- Any message you write
- The comedian or MC you were enquiring about, if you came from their page
- The page you sent the enquiry from
Alongside that, our system automatically records your IP address and your browser’s user agent string. We use these only to identify and block spam submissions.
Name, email and phone number are required, because we cannot respond to an enquiry without them. Everything else is optional and only helps us quote more accurately.
How we use it
We use enquiry information to:
- Respond to you and answer your questions
- Prepare a quote and check performer availability
- Arrange and deliver a booking, if you go ahead
- Keep a record of the enquiry so we can pick up where we left off if you come back to us
We do not use your enquiry details for marketing lists, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is emailed to the Funny Guys team and stored in this website’s database. Beyond that, we rely on a small number of service providers to run the site:
- Our web host, which stores the website and its database
- SMTP2GO, which delivers the notification email carrying your enquiry to us
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, which tell us how the site is used
- Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used on this site
- YouTube, which hosts the showreel videos embedded on performer pages
- MalCare and Cloudflare, which provide security and spam filtering
If a booking goes ahead, we share the details a performer needs to do the job, such as the venue, the date, the run sheet and a contact person on the day.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Overseas processing
Some of the providers above are based outside Australia, or store data on servers outside Australia. That means your information may be processed overseas, including in the United States. We only use established providers who commit to protecting the information they handle for us.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors find and use the site. It records things like which pages you visit, roughly where you are in the world, what device you are on, and whether you submitted an enquiry or tapped our phone number. This is used in aggregate to improve the site.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site works fine without them.
WordPress, which this site runs on, may also set cookies if you leave a comment or log in to the site.
Embedded videos
Performer pages include showreels hosted on YouTube. These are set up so that nothing loads from YouTube until you click play. Once you do, YouTube can set cookies and collect data about your viewing, under Google’s privacy policy rather than this one.
Server logs
Like most websites, our host keeps standard access logs recording IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps and browser details. These are used to keep the site running, diagnose faults and investigate abuse.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as they are useful to the working relationship, because event bookings often come back around year after year and it helps to have the history. We do not have a fixed deletion schedule. If you would like your enquiry removed, just ask and we will delete it.
Keeping it secure
The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and the admin area is restricted to a small number of accounts. We use security and spam filtering on the enquiry form and the site itself. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your enquiry and contact details from our records

Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with how we respond, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
