It is in this writers humble opinion that free comedy nights usually mean shit comedy nights.
As with nearly everything in this crazy mixed up world, there are exceptions to every rule.
Comedy at Spleen Bar (top end of Bourke St in the city) is one of them.
Its not big and fancy but every Monday night you’ll find Australia’s best comedians jumping rubbing shoulders with
industry newcomers. Gold coin donations are gratefully accepted but essentially it’s free.
Tomorrow night Justin Hamilton’s in charge of the good ship Spleen along with some mystery guests.
Fans of Wilfred and Agony Uncles and Lowdown will get to see Adam Zwar add another string to his already impressive resume bow with another foray into the world of stand-up.
If you’re going to go, go early, seats fill fast at Spleen.
